Artist Statement:

Being very simple, my piece hopefully speaks by itself. I wanted to represent intersectional feminism in a straightforward way.

I think that the kind of feminism that truly fights hate is inclusive and intersectional.

Equality and the celebration of all kinds of diversities, cultures, gender identities, religions, sexual and/or romantic orientations , and so on, it fights hate to the very core. Hate comes from prejudices and prejudices come from ignorance. Allowing ourselves to see past that, and to respect and put everyone on the same level, that’s when hate can’t grow no more.

What grows is empathy, respect, freedom and peace.

The flowers connecting the two persons are what it is to me, something linking each other for a common purpose, making them grow, enrich themselves and get stronger together.
